Every animal at the Humane Society of North Central Florida is looking for a loving home. Whether you’re searching for a playful kitten, a loyal dog, or a lifelong companion, our adoption team is here to help you find the right match.
All adoptable pets receive comprehensive veterinary care before adoption and are ready to begin their next chapter. Our adoptable animals are updated in real time through our shelter management system, so you can always browse the most current list on our website.
Adoption Fee
Every animal that comes through our doors receives medical care, daily enrichment, food, housing, behavioral support, and lots of love before finding a family.
While every adopted pet has an adoption fee, that fee covers only a portion of the actual cost of care. The remaining expenses are made possible through the generosity of donors and supporters who believe every animal deserves a second chance.
When you adopt, you’re not only giving one animal a home, you help us continue caring for the next animal who needs us.
Every Adoption Includes
Every adopted pet receives comprehensive veterinary care, including:
- Spay or neuter surgery
- Veterinary examination
- Age-appropriate vaccinations
- Microchip
- Preventive care and species-specific health testing, as appropriate
- Any necessary medical treatment while in our care
You’ll also receive:
- Medical records
- A free bag of Hill’s Science Diet pet food
- A voucher for a complimentary wellness visit with a participating local veterinarian

Adopting is easy, and in many cases, same-day adoptions are possible.

Submit an adoption application online. If you’re not sure which pet is the right fit, simply complete a general application and we’ll help you find your match. Applications are valid for one year.
