The Alachua County Humane Society will be hosting a Conference for Pet Welfare Organizations, Animal Advocates, Community Leaders, Pet Rescues, and Vendors  May 29th through May 31st, 2009.

We are pleased to announce that there are no more registrations available for this year’s conference.

 Save the date and be ready to register early for next year - June 4^th and 5^th 2010

General Conference Information

• The conference will be held 5/29/2009 to 5/31/2009 in Gainesville, FL  (Home of the University of Florida Gators)

• The conference facility is the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center located at:

• Upper level decision makers for pet rescue organizations within a 6 hour drive time from Gainesville, FL  will be targeted to attend this conference

• The theme of this conference will be collaboration(promoting working together for the common cause of animal welfare)

• We have media partners that will be used to promote the event regionally

• Expected attendance at the event will be between 150-300 people

The proposed schedule will include:

• Friday night key note speaker and reception

• Saturday expo all day

• Saturday night “dine around” coordinated by the local Visitors and Convention Bureau where attendees will be taken by coach to the downtown and given “convention money” to spend at local businesses (promotion opportunity)

• Saturday break out sessions

• Sunday field trip to one of the ground breaking programs in Gainesville
