At the Alachua County Humane Society, volunteers are integral to the success of our organization. Without volunteers, we would be unable to save as many animals as we do.

We are always looking for dedicated individuals to help us in a variety of areas ranging from walking, cleaning, and socializing with animals to laundry, dishes, thrift store operations and special events.

We do not have a minimum age requirement for volunteering but we do require that any volunteer under the age of 16 be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Please email our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@alachuahumane.org if you have any questions about our volunteer program. If you are interesting in donating your time and helping Alachua County Humane Society in our commitment to saving lives, sign up to be a volunteer today!

November Volunteer Spotlight

Pamela Wadley – Cat/Thrift Volunteer, 840 Hours

I graduated from the Medical College of Georgia (now called Georgia Regents University) with a degree in medical technology. Since retiring from the VA in 2009, I have enjoyed all of my volunteer activities. I especially enjoy my time at the Alachua County Humane Society. It is rewarding to know that the work I do allows the employees to spend more time with the animals that need special care. And now I help in our Thrift Store and that is rewarding, too.

I also volunteer at the Haven Hospice Attic Store and I am a docent twice a month at Cedar Key Historical Society Museum.
Thank you, Pam for all you do for ACHS!
